Womb Ecology
The environment where babies grow has an impact on their development
What is Ecology?
In ecology, a habitat is the natural environment where an organism or population lives, providing the necessary food, water, shelter, and space for survival and reproduction.
It encompasses all the physical and living factors surrounding an organism, such as climate, soil, and the presence of other species.
New research keeps coming...
The development of a new generation of research implies a necessary new awareness. In the future, preconceptional counselling must reflect new preoccupations based on the life-long effects of intrauterine pollutants.
This new generation of research will develop more easily when "Womb ecology" will be recognized as the most vital branch of Human Ecology.
Womb Ecology
The life period with the highest adaptability and vulnerability to environmental factors - the period inside the womb, including the birth process.
This is the origins of heath as beginning in the womb. It points to the positive effects and changes that can occur when re-evaluating the importance of the pregnancy period for matters of public health. A brief review of the literature on dietary habits preconception/prenatal-ly, and the intrauterine pollution of fat-soluble synthetic chemicals were offered.
Followed by the description of a pilot study for the purpose of initiating a new generation of research. Results indicated preconceptional counselling must reflect new preoccupations based on the life-long effects of intrauterine pollutants.
*Womb Ecology is a concept that encompasses the womb as a living landscape, where women's health, planetary cycles, and collective regeneration are interconnected. It emphasizes the importance of understanding the womb's ecosystem, which includes the physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual aspects.
Womb Ecology also requires a macroscopic view to capture the entire story, considering the social, economic, political, and ecological landscapes that shape the womb's reality. This philosophy encourages practices such as cycle synching to optimize internal seasons and honor the natural rhythms of the womb.* (wombecology.com)
